Abnish Singh Chauhan

abnish2Dr Abnish Singh Chauhan/ अवनीश सिंह चौहान (1979) is a bilingual poet, critic, translator and editor (Hindi and English). He had been invited as Author and Speaker to Ahemdabad International Literature Festival held at Ahemdabad in 2016 and as a Judge and Speaker for ‘Young Poets Competition’ under the banner of 'Rendezvous 2017' held at IIT, Delhi on Oct 15, 2017. His significant books include Speeches of Swami Vivekananda: Select Speeches, Swami Vivekananda and Subhash Chandra Bose: A Comparative Study, Functional English, William Shakespeare: King Lear, The Fictional World of Arun Joshi: Paradigm Shift in Values, Tukda Kagaz Ka, Ek Akela Pahiya, Navgeet Vangmay (ed.) and Navgeet: Samvadon Ke Saransh. His deep interest in translation prompted him to translate thirty poems of BS Gautam Anurag under the title Burns Within from Hindi into English. Besides Harivansh Rai Bachchan Yuva Geetkar Samman (2013) for his Hindi poetry collection Tukada Kagaz Ka from Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Lucknow, U.P., he is the recipient of Pratham Kavita Samman (2011) from Kavita Kosh (www.kavitakosh.org), Book of the Year Award (2012) from the Think Club, Michigan, USA, Srajnatmak Sahitya Puraskar (2013) from Rajasthan Patrika, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Navankur Puraskar (2014) from Abhivyakti Vishwam, Sharjah, UAE, etc. He is editor at Creation and Criticism and Poorvabhas. Shri Shri Anandamurti

prabhat-ranjan-sarkarPrabhat Ranjan Sarkar (21 May 1921 – 21 October 1990), Shri Shri Ánandamúrti, ‘Bliss Embodiment’, and known as Bábá (‘Father’) to his disciples, was a Spiritual Guru, Indian philosopher, yogi, author, poet, composer, linguist and scientist. Sarkar was the founder of Ananda Marga (the Path of Bliss) in 1955, a spiritual and social organization that offers instruction in meditation and yoga. Gyani Zail Singh, seventh President of India, has said about Sarkar: "Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar was one of the greatest modern philosophers of India."

PCK Prem

pck-prem-3An author of more than sixty books in English and Hindi, PCK Prem (P.C. Katoch 1945 of Malkher Garh, Palampur--176 061, a former academician, civil servant and Member, Public Service Commission, Shimla, Himachal) post-graduated from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1970.  He has published nine collections of poetry, seven novels and two collections of short fiction in English. A few significant works on criticism are:  Contemporary Indian English Poetry from Himachal-edited 1992, English Poetry in India: A Comprehensive Survey of Trends and Thought-Patterns 2011, English Poetry in India: A Secular Viewpoint-Co-edited 2011, TEN Poetic Minds in Indian English Poetry and Time and Continuity (2016). Creative writings in Hindi include twenty novels, nine books on short fiction, one collection of poetry and criticism. He is a recipient of more than twenty literary/social awards including HP State Guleri & Academy Awards and Bharat Hindi Rattan Award. Many academicians and scholars have published critiques/research articles on his works that are included in various anthologies/reference books. His critical articles on poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous anthologies. Many literary journals of International repute have also published his critiques on poetry and fiction. 

 

“He not only offers an expose of life in its shocking shallowness or outward show but also provides, down deep, philosophical prop or basis to sustain life. Prem deals with the present day world, its problems and dilemmas, fears and aspirations. Katoch (Prem) tries to unravel the mystery of life by looking into the life of things. His fertile imagination and mature artistry enable him to manage complex situations and a vast spectrum of life. In the lineage of the nationally known Maharaja Sansar Chand, Prem is the only major poet, novelist, short story writer, translator and critic in English from Himachal Pradesh,” says Dr Atma Ram (former Director of Education and Advisor to the Government of Himachal).

Sudhir K Arora

sudhir-kumar-aroraSudhir K. Arora (1968) teaches English at Maharaja Harishchandra P.G. College, Moradabad, affiliated to M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. His literary repertoire is extensive, encompassing a number of novels, poems, children’s books, essays, and theatre plays. His works have been translated into more than four dozen languages of the world. Though his first published novel— Raudt, svart (Red, Black), debuted in 1983, he considers his short story— ‘Han’ (He), published in a student newspaper in 1981, as his true literary debut.
