kutastvā kaśhmalamidaṁ viṣhame samupasthitam

anārya-juṣhṭamaswargyam akīrti-karam arjuna. (The Bhagavad Gita 2.2)

Translation: Shree Krishna said: “From where has this dejection come upon you in this critical moment, Arjuna? This attitude does not befit a noble person; it leads not to higher realms, but to dishonour.”

The journey of a student is not merely a pursuit of grades or degrees— it is a quest for clarity, purpose, and deeper understanding. And yet, amidst the pressures of deadlines, the noise of distraction, and the burden of self-doubt, confusion often clouds the path of the student. In those moments, the timeless wisdom of Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita becomes profoundly relevant.

Shri Krishna questions Arjuna about how delusion has gripped him on the brink of the war in Kurukshetra. When He questions, it is not a reprimand; it is just a wake-up call. He is inviting Arjuna to recall his noble self to rise above his transient emotional disturbances.

Similarly, each student might encounter inner turmoil— doubt regarding the future, fear of not succeeding, lack of motivation or some other negative impulses. This confusion, though often subtle, will probably paralyze his mind and bring his movement to a standstill. But a true student does not remain captive to it. Rather, he acknowledges it, confronts it, and turns the struggle into a sincere quest for knowledge. Through questioning, reflection, or seeking guidance, the student gradually attains clearer insight and renewed vision, not only in academics or worldly pursuits, but also on the path of spiritual growth.

All the best!

Happy reading…
